Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Band 7 Radiographer to join our Team of Lead Radiographers in Plain Film Imaging.
We are a group of enthusiastic radiographers with a passion for care and ensuring good patients’ experience whilst working as a team. We work closely with members of the Multidisciplinary Team and other stakeholders through partnership. We operate from two main sites, Queen’s and King George Hospitals, as well as other satellite sites, as part of our cross site working.
As a Band 7 Lead Radiographer in the largest modality in Radiology, you will be required to demonstrate strong leadership skills and be focussed on good discipline, quality care and ability to work under managed pressure.
This is a clinical operational role where you will be:
· Expected to work across multiple sites in close collaboration with the Modality Lead to ensure an effective day-to-day running of the Plain Film service.
· Assist and deputise for the Modality Lead Radiographer in meetings, organising rotas and other operational resource requirements.
· You will be a named person responsible for a sub-section within Plain Films and promote expert knowledge in this area.
· Assist in the introduction and implementation of a Quality Assurance Imaging systems e.g. QSI, co-ordination of administrative and clinical responsibilities with other leads.
· Oversee and organise the day-to-day workload in the Plain Films area and liaising with other departments as and when required.
· Actively work as in the development of radiology services, participate in research, and audit programs.
· Also work as a senior member of the radiology wide team, with the ability to foster our radiology wide goals and ethos.
· Manage staff and resources effectively to promote patient care and ensure the efficient running of the department.
· To ensure a high standard of personal work and ensure quality imaging from colleagues.
We provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs. Most of our 7,800 permanent staff live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge and the majority are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. We also provide healthcare services to people in south west Essex, and specialist neurosciences services to the whole of the county.
Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals and we operate from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two of the busiest emergency departments in London – more than 300,000 people visited our A&Es in 2023. We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Community Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic, and Harold Wood Polyclinic.
We’re pleased to be leading the way inreducing the time our patientswait to get the treatment they need. The Elective Surgical Hub at King George Hospital is one of eight to beaccredited as part of a national scheme; the Care Quality Commission has raised the ratings for urgent and emergency care at Queen’s and King George hospitals; and data released by NHS England showed that the Trust was the most improved in 2023 for reducing waits for emergency care.
We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We’re also part of theNorth East London Cancer Alliance.
