Summary

Field Loss Adjusting People Leader

As a Loss Adjusting People Leader you will be a highly experienced People Leader and will be playing a crucial role in supporting the Director of Adjusting in overseeing and managing the people aspect of the Field Loss Adjusting Team.
This key role within the Adjusting Team management structure will predominantly involve dealing with people management, welfare, attendance, performance of our in-house loss adjusters and maintaining company values, enhancing department culture and philosophies.

Where: Homebased - within this remote position there is an expectation for you to travel to the geographical areas we cover across the UK.
When: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £45,000pa - £50,000pa DOE plus a company car.
Direct reports: 12

What you will be doing:

- Managing, coaching, and supporting a team of home-based field Loss Adjusters on a day-to-day basis to drive positive engagement, empowerment, setting and reviewing performance objectives to ensure compliance and service standards are met.
- Work in collaboration with the wider management team to maintain and enhance skill sets within the department, encouraging growth, personal development, and professional qualifications.
- Undertake regular performance review meetings to establish clear goals and objectives and to ensure compliance with company and client philosophies (in conjunction with HR, where required).
- Lead the way and support management change and empower employees to innovate.
- Lead or participate in organisational planning, acting as a champion of process and engagement that lead to meeting business objectives.
- Ability to use your skills and experience as a people leader, also drawing on conflict resolution techniques to support team members who may be struggling with personal or work-based issues affecting service delivery and performance.
- Engagement with key stakeholders and HR is considered a critical part of this role; especially in relation to dealing with complex and challenging situations including informal and formal employee-related issues.
- Work closely with Adjusting Management Team regarding resource management and support the recruitment process, engaging with other stakeholders during the interview and onboarding process and beyond.
- Promote company ethics and values to drive positive engagement and empowerment of the team and individuals on a day-to-day basis.
- Develop and enhance department culture to create ‘one team’ aligned with company’s values.

What we need from you:

- Proven experience in a people leadership role, managing a group of employees, multiple or large teams. Remotely would be an advantage.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to be an active lead and member of a collaborative team and be creative in your approach.
- Proven problem-solving ability and an adaptable communication/ management style to achieve the best resolution.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Experience in property loss adjusting or similar is desirable.
- Completion of ILM or another management qualification is also desirable.
- Full driving licence due to the nature of this role.
