ACA Qualified Insolvency Investigations Assistant | Norwich City Centre | Full Time - 7.5 hours per day Monday to Friday | Competitive Salary + Bonus + Paid overtime opportunity

Our client is a professional services company which is one of the largest independent business rescue and insolvency boutique practices in the UK providing clients with corporate advisory and insolvency services.

They are looking to recruit a full-time Insolvency Investigations Assistant to join our business Insolvency Investigations Team based at our city centre Norwich office. Ideally, the successful candidate will be ACA Qualified, have an inquiring mind and have excellent Excel skills.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accountancy/finance-related role
• Preferably ACA-qualified
• Must possess an enquiring mind
• Understanding of statutory and management accounts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• An organised and positive approach to work
• Comfortable being involved in contentious situations
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and in particular, advanced Excel functions for use in analysis work
• No knowledge of insolvency required (training will be provided)

What will your role look like?

• Reviewing and interpreting financial records
• Reviewing and summarising financial data including analysis of large datasets using Microsoft Excel
• Reviewing books and records and other relevant documentation
• Reviewing and interpreting electronic accounting records, including but not limited to Sage Accounts, QuickBooks and Xero
• Drafting written reports summarising findings of the above for review
• Conducting background checks on potential litigation targets
• Attendance at investigative interviews
• Preparing profit and loss account, balance sheet and cashflow forecasts
• Preparing statement of affairs and estimated outcome statements
• Attending meetings with directors
• Drafting letters for review by senior staff
• Use of insolvency practice software
