Job Description: As an SEMH PE Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored physical education sessions and sports activities to students with SEMH needs. Working closely with the PE department and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), you will design and implement inclusive PE programs that focus on building students' physical skills, social skills, and emotional resilience. Your role will involve providing one-on-one support, adapting activities to meet individual needs, and fostering a positive and supportive environment where every student can succeed.

Key Requirements:

• Passion for Physical Education: Genuine enthusiasm for promoting physical activity and well-being among students with SEMH needs.
• Experience in SEMH Support: Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs and an understanding of their support requirements.
• Adaptability and Creativity: Ability to adapt PE activities and games to accommodate diverse abilities and cater to individual student needs.
• Positive Behavior Management: Proficiency in using positive behavior management techniques within a physical education setting to promote engagement and cooperation.
• Empathy and Patience: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and patience to support students through their emotional and behavioral challenges.
• Teamwork and Collaboration: Willingness to collaborate with the PE department, teaching staff, and external professionals to provide holistic support to students.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to physical education activities and the ability to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
