Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist, Southwark Community
The successful OT applicant will be anchored by a supportive network of community and inpatient OTs, have access to peer working sessions with OTs from Adult Social Care; and will be encouraged to seek out opportunities to enrich their continued professional development across all areas of their practice. Through co-production and client-led interventions, the post holder will enable individuals to access community services that provide leisure activities, academic and vocational courses, and volunteering opportunities; supporting them to harness more meaning and purpose in their daily living.
The successful applicant will be committed to using a strengths-based model, and a whole systems approach to recovery from mental illness, working with service users in a variety of community-based settings. In this role, the OT can develop intervention skills, working with a wide range of assessment tools, and will be supported to build knowledge of these through training and peer working.
Occupational therapy provision is established within the team. The post holder will receive line management supervision from the team manager and profession specific supervision from the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist for community services.
South London and Maudsley NHS Trust has been transforming their services. We are committed to developing and learning through the experiences of our service users and their families. We have an opportunity through the “Patient and Carer race Equality Framework”, as well as our “Aiming High, Changing Lives strategy” to build a culture of trust together and be a partner in Prevention, and are seeking to create opportunities to work together with our stakeholders more effectively.
