Teaching Personnel are seeking to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work in a Primary School based in Cardiff. The position will be 5 days a week, working part time hours which will be 10:30am-2:30pm. The role is based in a class in the Foundation Phase, and there are no more than 10 children in the class who have a range of additonal learning needs. The ideal candidate will be working with children on a 1:1 or group basis, who require additional support with their learning and day to day assistance. Using initiative and being confident creating a strong relationship with the child will be required, to ensure the children are developing as expected and involved with the learning throughout the day. Adaptability is essential, and there may be instances dealing with challenging behaviour and assisting the teacher with daily classroom duties.

Main duties required:
- Confident providing 1:1 support to children with additional learning needs
- Ability to complete intervention work with small groups of children
- On hand to support the teacher with general classroom support
- Preparing resources for the day and ensuring the classroom is ready for lessons

The school is looking for an energetic Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team, bringing new ideas and a positive attitude to the class. The school will provide continuous support and feedback, with the possibility of roles extending for the whole academic year and potentially further oppurtunties in September.

What you will need:
- Enhanced DBS (Child Only) checks must be completed before the role will commence.
- Registered to the Education Workforce Council (mandatory requirement in Wales).
- Experience personally or in a working environment with children (desirable).
