St Francis RC Primary School is a growing denominational Catholic school located in the East of the City in the great Craigmillar area. Our school was created in 1935 and moved into the current joint campus in August 2008. The school caters for children from Primary 1 to Primary 7. Our current roll is 296 children in school divided into 12 classes. We have created a strong ethos based on our Catholic values. These values permeate all we do. We are a diverse and inclusive school, with a third of learners from varying nationalities and cultures. The Senior Leadership Team comprises of a Head Teacher, a Depute Head, Principal Teacher and a Business Manager. St Francis has strong partnerships with the Holy Rood Cluster.

We have excellent links with our associated primaries, developing collegiate working amongst the local schools. We have very close links with the parishes of St Teresa's and work closely with the Parish priest and also the Sacramental Preparation team. There is an ethos of continual improvement and staff are committed to working collegiately to provide the very best education for our pupils. The school is firmly committed to raising attainment and achievement including closing the attainment gap between the most and least disadvantaged children, improvement in children and young people’s health and wellbeing and improvement in employability skills and sustained, positive school leaver destinations for all young people.
