Summary

Occupational Therapist Band 6

Full time - 37.5 hours

Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for a new opportunity or the next step in your career?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will join an exciting rotation between the acute respiratory wards, cardiorespiratory admissions ward and cardiology. They will also get the opportunity to work in vascular, cardiac and thoracic surgery specialties.

You will manage a caseload of patients with a variety of conditions by completing timely assessments of patients referred to the service and develop individualised treatment plans. You will develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of community services with the aim to facilitate discharge from the acute setting as efficiently and effectively as possible.

As well as your direct clinical role you will get opportunities to deliver training and education to the therapy team and the wider multidisciplinary team. There will be opportunities to supervise staff as well as provide practice placements for Occupational Therapy students. There is also a structured in-service training in place within the team which you will be actively encouraged to be involved in. Service improvement, audits and research is encouraged and you will have the opportunity to be part of the established Therapy Research, Audit and Service Evaluation group (TRASE).

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
