Night Care Manager

Lofthouse Grange & Lodge Care Home

£13.69 per hour

38.5 hours per week

Our Care Managers make a difference. They are in charge of night shifts and ensure our high care standards are maintained around the clock. Night shifts can often be as busy as the day shift and you will have what it takes to nurture, encourage and care.

Supporting the Home Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home, you will lead the care team at night, actively contributing to assessments and care reviews and acting as a point of contact for the team, individuals living in the home and their families. You will administer medication as prescribed and accurately maintain appropriate records in line with legislative guidelines.

Main duties

To act as the person in charge of the home at night ensuring that legislation is adhered to, and standards are maintained. Ensuring effective handovers with home manager/Deputy Manager.

To assist the Home Manager in handling residents’ personal finances ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.

To provide the highest level of personal care and attention to residents, following individual care plans carefully and ensuring that all contact is polite, friendly, warm, and supportive. To act as the Care Plan co-ordinator, ensuring that these responsibilities are carried out in full (as defined in the training manual).

Responsible for; understanding and complying with statutory and legal requirements that are relevant, including Health & Safety, COSHH, all aspects of the Care Standards Act to ensure that all care teams and other staff maintain a safe environment throughout the home. Responsible for timely escalation of key issues to the Home Manager/ other parties as instructed.

To participate in the formulation of individual Care Plans for each resident and administer medication to residents as prescribed, accurately maintaining appropriate records for both. Responsible for ordering, checking in and stock control of residents’ prescribed medication; liaising with GP’s where necessary.

Responsible for stock control and ordering where agreed with Home Manager new supplies of continence and medical products.

To always be alert to residents physical and mental wellbeing, immediately dealing with and reporting any changes in a resident’s condition. Liaising with other care professionals as required and ensuring that all records are updated accurately.

To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident’s personal information at all times, this includes resident’s behaviour and actions and any incidents that may occur in the course of night time care and to ensure that all care teams and other staff understand and respect this.
