Summary


We are looking for a full time Medical Secretary to join the Poole Adult Community Mental Health Team based at Alderney Hospital. The Service provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment and support for adults of working age who have a severe and enduring mental health illness.

The service is delivered in line with a recovery focused model in the Poole Central area. The service works in line with the Care Programme Approach and consists of an integrated multi disciplinary team of health and social care staff including CMHN’s, Social Workers, Medical Staff, Support Time Recovery Workers, Occupational Therapist, Psychology and administration staff.

We are seeking to recruit a flexible, enthusiastic and motivated member of staff to join our Community Team. A knowledge of Mental Health Services would be an advantage as would a working knowledge of our in house system RIO, although full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours



To provide a proactive approach in supporting the Consultant in carrying out their role including high quality secretarial support to the Consultant, their Team of medical staff and the Community Mental Health Team.
To be a point of contact for service users and carers telephoning the team, providing a professional and courteous service.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Medical Secretary to support our Poole Adult Community Team. Your role will be to support comprehensive, effective and confidential secretarial and administrative service and to ensure the provision of an effective and efficient secretarial and administrative support to the wider clinical team.

We need all applicants to have comprehensive audiotyping experience.An audio typing test will be included as part of the interview process.

Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
