The Role

We are looking for a Care Assistant who understand it is the little things that can make the biggest difference.

As an Orwell Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in the lives of our customers, giving them the choice to stay in the comfort of their own homes and supporting them with everything they need to do to live well. You will work mostly alone in someone’s home but will be part of a care team for the benefit and wellbeing of all the tenants who live at the service. No two days will be the same and you will receive the learning and development you need to thrive in Orwell.

In caring for our customers, your main duties will include:

• personal care
• medication administration
• supporting people through temporary or terminal illness
• helping with eating and drinking
• light domestic duties such as bed making
• support with social, physical activities and mental stimulation such as hobbies and recreation

Pitches View is situated in the village of Reydon, one mile north-west of Southwold, Suffolk. Reydon and Southwold have a number of local amenities including a doctor's surgeries, dentists, shops, hotels and restaurants, allotments and village hall.

Person Specification...

• Care Certificate, is desirable
• QCF Level 2 in Health and Social care or equivalent, is desirable
• Full driving licence, is desirable

*To be eligible for the £750 a joining bonus, you must meet the following criteria:

• If you have not been working in the care industry for the previous 2 years OR have come straight from education (eg, college, sixth form, apprenticeship).
• You must be employed for a minimum of 8 hours per week.
• The scheme must be a CQC registered provider in Suffolk.
• You must work for at least 12 weeks with Orwell and pass this starting period to qualify for the payment
