We are looking for a part-time Specialist Support Worker (Mental Health) an exciting opportunity to work with residents in our Assessment Hub, Newport, Isle of Wight. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, a good communicator, passionate and positive.

Job Summary:
The role is within The Salvation Army 17-bed Assessment Hub, Howard House. You will work collaboratively, developing the services’ multi-agency approach and supporting residents to progress on their individual journeys from street to home through the stages of the Isle of Wight Homelessness Pathway.

Key Responsibilities:
The Specialist Support Worker with The Salvation Army is critical to providing an enhanced level of service for our vulnerable clients. As a highly competent Specialist Support Worker you will be responsible for taking a lead role in the specialist area of Mental Health and working within a specialist programme to plan and deliver a high-quality support service, which promotes client choice and control and ensures clients learn new skills, make positive life choices and achieve the best possible outcomes. The successful applicant will function as part of the management team, holding line management responsibilities and part of the duty rota including on call duty as and when required.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

Experience of delivering a client focussed service which undertakes holistic support needs, risk assessments and identifies appropriate support for clients
Ability to work in busy environment, be solution focused, show good time management skills and can demonstrate ability to prioritise and make decisions under pressure
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Experience of building and maintaining strong and effective partnerships with stakeholders, other services and departments, clients and staff
