We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team in supporting the continuous development of UHCW's Pathway to Excellence® Programme and the nursing and midwifery excellence agenda.

As a subject matter expert in facilitating Shared Professional Decision-Making, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment within UHCW.

Key responsibilities include supporting the growth and development of the Shared Professional Decision-Making model across the Trust; working closely with various stakeholders including ward/department managers, service leads, and healthcare professionals. The role involves providing guidance and support to UHCW’s Shared Decision-Making councils, ensuring smooth functioning of the model, and facilitating leadership activities that promote a positive practice environment.

This position offers not only a chance to contribute meaningfully to healthcare delivery through the Pathway to Excellence® Programme but also provides ample opportunities for professional growth and development. Please note this post is not suitable for applicants who are required to undertake the OSCE training programme. Applicants who do not have current valid UK NMC registration will not be considered for this post.

To support the ongoing development of UHCW’s Pathway to Excellence®Programme through to successful re-designation and beyond. The post holder will facilitate the implementation, development, evaluation and sustainability of UHCW’s Shared Professional Decision-Making model and support the wider delivery of the Trust’s NMAHP Excellence strategy; thus contributing to the continual development of quality services provided to patients and others who come into contact with the Trust. The post holder will be clinically based, placing the clinical environment at the heart of the Shared Professional Decision-Making approach, and will participate in and support the delivery of specific projects related to excellence in nursing practice.

Clinical/professional

Act professionally, developing the role of the nurse/midwife in the best interests of the patient and profession in accordance with the relevant professional body codes of professional conduct,
1. Maintain an identifiable clinical presence and undertake relevant clinical activities to maintain own clinical competency and to support staff in developing clinical
2. Ensure that evidence-based practice is developed and implemented through Shared Decision-Making to improve patient
3. Lead, facilitate and manage specific corporate nursing workstreams e.g., the Shared Decision-Making model at
4. Support the delivery of activities related to the Pathway to Excellence®and nursing and midwifery excellence agenda e.g. facilitating conferences, celebration/recognition events and evidence collation for Pathway to Excellence®re-submission.
5. Acquaint department/ward managers and matrons with professional, operational or clinical concerns and promote professional practise at all times, escalating any risks or unresolved issues to the Pathway to Excellence® Facilitator
