Summary


The Research Development Facilitator will have a responsibility for supporting clinical researchers with developing their research ideas, ensuring the timely completion of research funding applications and that the Research Development’s Team’s key performance indicators are tracked.

1. To act as a point of contact for research funding applications and enquires.

This will require ensuring all enquiries are effectively managed and successfully resolved promptly, ensuring all relevant personnel are informed as necessary and an appropriate record is maintained. Confidently liaising and effectively communicating at all levels by using written, oral and electronic methods. Using tact and sensitivity to deal with difficult issues as required.
1. To ensure, wherever possible, that all documentation is up-to-date and available whenever decisions are being made, reporting circumstances where it is necessary to prompt further discussions.

This will require effective collaboration with all relevant personnel to maintain an efficient administrative system for recording research funding applications. This will include manipulation and distribution of appropriate correspondence. Actively participating in building meaningful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be very important to our joint successes.
1. To continually contribute to patient and business improvement agendas.

This will require completing project work and includes obtaining information from diverse sources, data collation and production of reports and spreadsheets. Sharing ideas for potential service improvements is essential and viable plans will be encouraged to be tested for feasibility.

1. To assist with the implementation and maintenance of efficient office management systems and procedures to enable our team to optimise their standards of service.

This will require effective time management, arranging and preparation and maintenance of correspondence and reports, manipulation of documentation management systems and general workflow tasks.
1. To support team members with research funding applications.

This will require undertaking appropriate staff training and development as required, confidently providing cross-cover on a reciprocal basis in the absence of colleagues. Searching for funding and development opportunities and providing support to new and existing researchers is a core element of being effective in this role.
1. To use initiative and work to standard operating procedures and working instructions to meet essential work requirements and to achieve accurate data capture from researchers in relation to research funding applications, research outputs and other metrics according to reporting requirements.

This will require being able to learn and maintain the best practices in the capture of technical, scientific and research data and metrics, being flexible to changing needs.
