The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator who will provide high-level support to the Centre Director and the two research divisions within the Centre for Genomic and Experimental Medicine (CGEM). The postholder will also act as administrator to the University’s new One Health Genomics Initiative, whose Executive Committee is chaired by the CGEM Centre Director The overall aim is to contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Centre and Institute in partnership with professional service colleagues.



The successful applicant will join our Institute’s Administrative team and will play a pivotal role in providing professional administrative services across the IGC campus. The job is made up of a variety of responsibilities, all supporting the IGC Centre Administrators / Directors’ PAs.



This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and we are happy to accommodate working patterns between our core hours of Monday-Friday 08:00-17:30. This role will be predominantly campus based.



The successful applicant will have strong communication skills and enjoy working in a busy environment. They should be able to work on their own initiative as well as being an active team member. We are looking for someone enthusiastic who wants to learn and grow within our team. Full training will be provided.



Your skills and attributes for success:

Proven ability to plan and organise work activities and tasks, keeping track of progress of work.
High degree of problem solving and organisational skills, with ability to show initiative and prioritise tasks.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including audio typing.
Experienced user of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, e-mail and internet
A flexible, positive, friendly approach and a proactive team player.
