Summary

Are you looking for a role where you can support young people who have experienced homelessness? We have a great role for you supporting and mentoring young people achieve their dreams and goals. Join our Youth Homelessness Services as a Relief Project Worker and offer support across our services Glasgow.

Your new opportunity

We are currently recruiting Relief Project Workers to join our dedicated youth homelessness service who operate in 4 locations across Glasgow. Each service is unique and provides support and housing for young people who have been exposed to adverse childhood experiences. Quarriers Youth Homeless services are crucial to the young people we support and we are looking for individuals who share quarriers values and want to help support people with achieving their goals and strive for a better life.

Some of the young people supported may have experienced trauma and hardship, including abuse, neglect, witnessing experiences such as crime, domestic violence, mental illness, and alcohol / substance use, often resulting in long-term effects on their, health, wellbeing, development, and learning.

As a key member of the relief team, you will adapt to each environment as each service offers person centred support which is tailored to individual needs. We are looking for people who can build rapport, provide emotional support and ensure each young person’s voice is heard. #keepthepromise.

Sound like you? Our relief staff will have the opportunity to work across each of our services;

The WHAT IF female Service, based in the East end of Glasgow, supports 10 young women aged 18-25 years who are accommodated in Temporary Furnished flats across the city.
The WHAT IF (Male) project is based in the Southside of Glasgow and supports 12 young males living in dispersed flats.
The Stopover Project provides an accommodation-based housing support service for young people, aged 16 to 25 years. The service is based in the southside of Glasgow and is located within a purpose-built building.
The James Shields Project provides an accommodation-based housing support service for 10 young people, aged 16 to 25 years. The service is located in the Tollcross area of Glasgow and supports 10 young people within a tenemental building
This is a relief role and shifts offered will depend on service needs, shifts can typically run as days, evenings, weekends and nightshifts (depending on the service).

What you will need to bring to the role

Compassion and kindness to support people in their day to day lives.
Enthusiasm and self-motivation.
Ability to apply transferable life experience and skills to support and enable individuals.
Excellent problem solver who is driven by positive outcomes.
Resilient, reliable and an excellent listener.
Good IT & communication skills.
Driving licence is desired but not essential
