Summary

FEMALE SUPPORT WORKER

Required to work with a delightful young girl aged 13 years with cerebral palsy, in Aberdare. Based at the client’s home, role will involve personal care, therapy programme and community activities.

The Client likes spending time with family, watching TV, playing with her noisy toys.
Going to school, youth club and Sunday school. She loves going on days out with the family, going on rides and enjoys horse-riding, swimming, colouring, drawing and playing board games.

Registration with Social Care Wales is desired. If not registered, you will be expected to do so within the first 6 months.

A recognised Health and Social Care qualification (QCF Level 2 or above) is desirable.

Some experience of caring for children with learning, physical and communication difficulties is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

A Full driving licence is desirable – The Client has their own vehicle which you would drive, it is not essential to have a licence as shifts are worked on a 2:1 basis.

Competent IT skills are desirable.

Full time, part time and bank hours available to cover the following:
Up to 144 hours over a 4-week period on a flexible basis positions include day/waking nights and/or sleep in night shifts

Examples of shift patterns: Day/ Waking Nights

Term time:
Mon-Fri 15:00-21:00
Weekend 08:00-20:00

School holidays:
Mon-Sun 08:00/08:30 -20:00/20:30

Waking nights Mon – Sunday 20:00/20.30 -08:00/08.30


Sleep in Shifts

Examples of shift patterns

Sleep in nights available Monday – Sunday 21.00 - 09.00

Shifts consists of 10 hours sleep in night rates (at the national living wage) and two hours of active duty a total of 12 hours at the applicable hourly rate


£14.50 per hour weekday day rate/waking night
£16.50 per hour weekend day rate/waking night
£11.44 per hour current national living wage (sleeping night)






This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.
You will also be required to register with the DBS Update Service.
