Summary

What you will be working: Up to 144 hours over a 4-week period on a flexible basis positions include day/waking nights and/or sleep in night shifts Examples of shift patterns are below. Term time: Monday to Friday - 3pm until 9pm Weekends - 8am until 8pm School holidays: Monday to Sunday - 8am / 8:30am until 8pm / 8:30pm Waking nights Monday to Sunday - 8pm / 8:30pm until 8am / 8:30am Sleep in Shifts Sleep in nights available Monday to Sunday 9pm until 9am Sleep in shifts consists of 10 hours sleep in night rates (at the national living wage) and two hours of active duty a total of 12 hours at the applicable hourly rate Salary: £14.50 per hour weekday day rate £16.50 per hour weekend day rate National Living Wage (Currently £11.44ph) Sleeping Nights What you will be doing: To ensure consistency of approach with the client in accordance with advised approaches to care and any emerging therapy aims. To liaise with and support the family as required. To work as part of a team and communicate appropriately with fellow team members. To follow the service user plan as documented for the client. To participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client. To ensure opportunity is given to participate in activities as identified by client / others while achieving a balance between school and rest for the client. To deliver programmes of educational, social and therapeutic development as directed by the relevant professionals and the client’s mother. To assist the client to ensure an adequate level of hygiene is maintained. To be aware of any significant changes in the client’s health, functioning or behaviour, and inform the client’s family, case manager as appropriate. To encourage the client’s independence as far as possible. To be aware of the client’s vulnerability and take precautions to protect it. To be aware of the client’s mobility, visual and cognitive problems and endeavour to cater for these at all times. What you will have: Full driving licence is desirable Ability to treat people with respect and dignity, in a non-judgemental, respectful and caring way, acknowledging their individuality A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to learn and develop Registered with OR willing to register with Social Care Wales within 6 months. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS and enrol in the DBS update service
