Summary


The post is a full time role (40 hours per week), during COVID recovery we are not fully open but when back to full timetable the post holder will take part in 1 in 3 Saturday shift. The post provides out-patient care for patients attending the Integrated Sexual Health clinic. Training and experience in contraception and GUM, although desirable is not essential. The post holder will be supported and trained in these disciplines with support and supervision to hand at all times.

The majority of sessions will be general Sexual Health Clinics. The post holder will, on a rotational basis contribute the medical cover of the weekly Young Persons sexual health clinic.

The job plan will include clinical admin time (where the post holder will manage clinical results for the service), an audit session, and an education/teaching session. The education session, on Wednesday morning, is when clinics are closed and consists of weekly departmental teaching (journal club, audit, case presentations), and small group self-directed teaching. The administration/audit and educational time will be protected.

The post holder is responsible to the Consultant Lead in Sexual Health. The post holder will be expected to continually update their education in Genito-Urinary Medicine and Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare and to fulfil their Continuing Medical Education and GMC revalidation requirements.

The proposed job plan will be discussed in detail with the post holder on appointment. On appointment of the post holder, the Clinical Lead will commence discussions to finalise the job plan which will become operational on appointment. The job plan is an indicative plan of the duties the post holder is likely to be asked to undertake.

Croydon Health Services NHS Trust provide hospital and community services from a number of community and specialist clinics throughout Croydon.

• Croydon University Hospital
• Purley Hospital
• The Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre in Thornton Heath
• Community bases at Purley, Sanderstead, New Addington, Broad Green, Woodside
• A minor injuries unit in New Addington
