Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic OT to join the innovative and rapidly growing Acute and Urgent Care Service Line.

We are looking for a professional and dynamic individual to join our well-established and highly valued Occupational Therapy Team. We offer an informal rotation where candidates can gain experience in areas such as acute and urgent care, forensic, rehab, community, and other specialist services.

Our rotational opportunities are within:
• On our specialist rehabilitation in-patient unit
• Adult acute wards
• An innovative “fast track” preceptorship programme to prepare individuals for community OT roles within our Liaison, Home Treatment and Recovery Support Teams.
• Forensic Inpatient Services

Our current intake is in Acute and Urgent Care, and we aim to offer you the opportunity to rotate to the above areas.

You will have the opportunity to work as part of established and experienced OT Team and Multidisciplinary Team. You will have individual clinical supervision and attend the Band 5 support group; a monthly developmental forum and participate in extensive internal training available within the Trust. We also follow a highly successful preceptorship scheme for new graduates and a preceptorship plus programme for Band 5’s with more experience who wish to progress into Band 6 roles. The dynamic OT team uses the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) to promote occupationally focussed practice and takes a lead on a number of research and innovation projects.

You will hold a diploma or degree in occupational therapy, be registered to practice in the UK, have undergraduate experience of working in mental health settings, and have the ability to support junior staff and peers in their development. You will possess good organisational and personal management skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrate an ability to be flexible, adaptable and be a positive thinker. You must be able to demonstrate an awareness of risk management and understand and be committed to promoting MOHO as a framework for practice.
