Our services are recognised for their inclusivity & diversity, and recently won a Nursing Times Award for ‘Enhancing Patient Dignity’. Our ambition is to be the leading healthcare provider for Trans and non-binary service users in the UK, building on the specialist expertise and knowledge of our clinical teams.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been commissioned to provide TransPlus at 56 Dean Street, the first integrated gender, HIV and sexual health service by NHS England. Our vision is for an innovative and patient-centred service, based on the principle that patients must have equal access to services whatever their gender identity with reasonable adjustments to the delivery of care to match the individual’s needs and circumstances.

The specialty doctor post covers work within the TransPlus Gender Dysphoria service and wider trans sexual healthcare based at 56 Dean Street. Candidates must have completed at least four years full time post-graduate training.

There are two positions available, one to start in June 2024 and one in August 2024.

The specialty doctor will work alongside junior and senior members of staff to help manage those with gender dysphoria and sexual health needs. They will assist with the prescribing of hormone therapy, management of results, and liaison with GPs and other associated health professionals. They will be responsible for the formulation of treatment plans for those diagnosed with gender dysphoria. The service refers for the range of services described in the NHS England service specification and agrees and co- ordinates treatment plans specifically tailored to address each service-user’s goals and clinical needs.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is proud to be one of the top performing and safest trusts in England.
