Job Description
Summary
I am a 32-year-old male with Cerebral Palsy. I am wheelchair dependant. I live in Hastings, East Sussex with my family. I require a personal assistant/Carer to assist me with all aspects of day to day living such as personal care and accessing the community. I am looking for someone who is reliable with a good sense of humour, has discretion and a caring attitude. I value a friendly yet professional atmosphere. My passions are fitness and swimming. I enjoy socialising with my family and friends. I like the cinema and love comedy and action movies. I really like to get out in the warm weather and to go out in my electric wheelchair. I am open minded to new interests and hobbies.
I am a practical person and like to plan and fill my time. I am busy with my part time job and volunteering.

A clean driving licence, with access to a vehicle is required. I have use of my own vehicle which, you may be required to drive. The main duties will include assisting with personal care (such as showering, toileting) food preparation, accompanying me to appointments, taking me to work, shopping, social events and some light housework. I will require someone who can also deal with admin work such as respond and compose letters, deal with emails and keep my filing system in order. Basic IT skills are essential and a good level of literacy.

Three-month probation period is given for the role.

Other Personal Qualities:
• It would be useful for someone to be working for me that is over 25 years of age due to my insurance policy of driving my personal vehicle, although most of the shift you will be required to the use of your own vehicle. Eg when dropping me off from work etc.

Additional duties:
• Light manual handling/moving. I require someone to help me into my stander, but this is done by an electronic hoist. You just need to be with me to line me up and stop me from falling. All training given.

• Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
• Vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission
