Summary


Band 6 - Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an innovative and dynamic team providing perinatal intervention in the community. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist who is passionate about service development and providing high standard of patient centred care. You will be working closely with a friendly team of psychotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses and administrators, who are committed to maintaining independence, promoting self-care and assisting patients to achieve their aim of staying at home. The successful candidate will be hardworking, reliable and able to use their initiative and work flexibly to respond to the service needs.
• Provide high quality OT service to parents and babies during the perinatal period.
• Responsible for the delivery a range of evidence based interventions which promote recovery, social inclusion and normalisation for service users.
• Ensure continuous responsibility for coordinating the care of an identified group of service users as part of a team.
• Develop and deliver a specialist occupational therapy group program to mothers and babies during the perinatal period
• Critically evaluate effectiveness of therapy interventions, in collaboration with service users, carers and other professionals.
• Provide specialist clinical advice and contribute to clinical information on service users’ progress by attending MDT meetings and liaison meetings.
• Work in partnership with a range of other services to provide support and treatment to service users to facilitate the safe management of both mother and babies needs.
• Work within the safeguarding adults and children frameworks across the Trust.
• Take responsibility for an evidence-based clinical audit.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High-Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436).
