Summary

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a range of groundworking tasks including excavation, trenching, and backfilling.
  • Operate heavy machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize plant/vehicle marshal skills to coordinate the movement of vehicles and machinery on site.
  • Assist in ensuring the safe loading, unloading, and movement of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct regular safety checks on machinery and equipment, reporting any defects or issues.
  • Work closely with colleagues, supervisors, and other tradespeople to ensure efficient workflow and site safety.
  • Adhere to project specifications, drawings, and health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Valid CPCS or NPORS Plant/Vehicle Marshall ticket.
  • Proven experience as a groundworker in the construction industry.
  • Competency in operating relevant machinery such as excavators, dumpers, and rollers.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Additional construction-related certifications or training.
  • Experience working on a variety of construction projects (e.g., residential, commercial, civil engineering).
