We are looking for a qualified Consultant Clinical Scientist / Consultant Allied Health Professional in Bone Densitometry / DXA scanning.




The Bone Density Service provides diagnostic and specialised research DXA scanning services at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH).The Service actively participates in R&D.

The principal duties of the post are to:
• Take overall responsibility and accountability for the safe and effective delivery of the Bone Densitometry Services at CUH.
• Manage staff and resources to provide smooth and efficient running of bone densitometry services.
• Provide advanced specialist expertise in the field of bone densitometry including the reporting of scans.
• Provide scientific support to the service.
• Initiate and participate in the research programmes in both bone densitometry and body composition analysis as a major job responsibility, using a thorough knowledge of the subject and advanced statistical analysis techniques.
• Present research results at leading national and international meetings and publish in peer reviewed journals.
• Participate in national and international fora as an expert in paediatric bone densitometry.
