Summary


The East Anglian Regional Radiation Protection Service (EARRPS) provides scientific and technical advisory services in the field of radiation protection and diagnostic radiology physics to a range of clients across the region. We are looking for a Clinical Scientist to join our team and support the delivery of a range of service aspects depending on skills and experience.

The service promotes systems of work that ensure the safety of patients, visitors and staff when using ionising and non-ionising sources of radiation such as x-rays, radioactive materials, lasers and UV sources. A wide range of services are provided including, imaging equipment performance testing and optimisation, radiation facility design and environmental monitoring, patient radiation dose assessment, regulatory audits and advice, instrument calibration, radioactive waste management and, teaching and training.

A passion for service delivery is essential. You should have excellent communication skills and a willingness to engage in multidisciplinary teaching and training. You will be required to travel and delivery services throughout the region. You will operate within both our HSE-recognised RPA Body and our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

While HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist would be seen as highly desirable for this role, applications are also open to those soon to complete the NHS Scientist Training Programme or those seeking registration via a suitable equivalence route. We are very supportive of both routes to registration and strongly encourage development towards further Qualified Expert certification such as RPA, MPE, RWA and LPA as appropriate. Candidates without registration would be considered at an appropriate pay point and banding in line with Annex 21 of Agenda for Change.
