Summary

This role will have a main focus around the clinical governance of the service. This will include but is not exhaustive to: Provide a high standard Occupational Therapy Service in the most appropriate setting for Rapid, 2hr Urgent Community Response and Virtual Wards patients. Independently manage and be responsible for your own clinical caseload. Provide clinical leadership for staff, taking a lead role in Continued Professional Development activities (CPD) and to have a shared responsibility for the clinical development of staff. Take a lead role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the clinical speciality, to interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts to form an accurate diagnosis, discuss treatment options and agree a management plan with patients, in order to achieve agreed set goals. Act as a source of specialist advice in the management of problems within the clinical area to patients, Occupational Therapists, other health care professionals GPs and Consultants. Supporting the delivery of an integrated approach to patient care across all professions, but specialising in the non-nursing elements of the service ). Identifying and addressing areas of clinical development across the service. Providing training from their own area of expertise. Managing the clinical performance of staff. Managing complex issues in the care of patients such as safeguarding risks or self neglect. Ensuring safe staffing levels are in place and work with the team leader to address this. Supporting the wellbeing of staff. Deputising in the absence of the Team Leader Facilitating effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as other primary care teams and GP Practice staff. This role would suit an individual with leadership experience and a dynamic mindset regarding how the service can best meet it's current and future objectives.
