Summary


We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join us on a permanent basis in the Hospital Therapy department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post will involve working as part of an Integrated Therapy Team covering the Care of the Older Person wards. The wider Integrated Therapy team support theEmergency Department, assessment areas and theFrailty Assessment Area, so there will be opportunity to develop skills within this specialty also. The team provides a 7-day service, with weekends worked on a roster basis

Applicants must have more than 12 months post grad experience to apply.

Applicants with less than 18 months post grad experience may be considered for a development framework if successful at interview.

This is a really exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team. You will take part in delivering a quality Integrated Therapy Service, providing assessment, intervention and discharge planning. The ability to work within a fast paced and pressured environment is essential, along with having excellent communication and interpersonal skills, whilst demonstrating the ability to support other team members. You will also work closely with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team including Physiotherapists, Consultants, Nurses, ACP's, other AHP's and Social Workers.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is situated on the west coast of Lancashire and operates within a regional health economy catchment area that spans Lancashire and South Cumbria. The Trust are a large, integrated provider of acute and community services to the 445,000 population of the Fylde coast health economy and provide urgent and emergency care services to around 18 million people who visit Blackpool every year.

We provide specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology services across this region and host the National Artificial Eye Service, which provides services across England.

The post holder is an autonomous practitioner, responsible for provision of highly specialised assessment, treatment, intervention and discharge planning of clients referred to the service.

Has responsibility for managing a caseload of clients with a variety of complex conditions including chronic, disabling and life limiting illnesses.

Carry out assessment, treatment and discharge planning.

Assist the Clinical Lead Therapist and Clinical Specialists in the planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating of the Integrated Therapy Service provided.
