The Department of Frailty (Care of the Elderly) currently comprises three complex care wards and intermediate care and nurse-led wards. These are in close proximity to the department’s office accommodation and out-patient department. There are good multidisciplinary links.

The Department of Frailty is dedicated to providing a seamless service to Older People and is working towards the achievement of goals and recommendations

The post holder will support the junior team in attending both emergency and elective admissions, treat ward patients in consultation with senior staff, review ward patients daily, maintain progress notes, attend resuscitation training and participate as a member of the cardiac arrest team.

These posts are included in the rotation through the local intermediate care rehabilitation unit and provides excellent experience of the growing care in the community agenda. The Post holder will also be expected to effectively communicate with patients and relatives and respond to any queries or complaints where applicable.
