Overview
We are looking for a Play Therapist to provide professional and confidential support and counselling play therapy services to students in the primary phase of Aylesbury Vale Academy.

Term time only

Salary Type: Bucks pay

Salary details: Bucks Pay Range 5 Point 26 (£32,192) to Point 30 (£34,684) Full-time Equivalent

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: 18 hours per week

About the role
The overall responsibility of the Play Therapist is to provide daily one to one support for students on a range of issues. They will be able to provide a high quality, professional and confidential psychotherapy/play therapy service for individual groups of students age 3 to 11 who require therapeutic welfare support covering a variety of emotional needs.

About you
We are looking for someone who has flexibility in their approach, resilience, good listening and communication skills, has a positive attitude to young people and good organisational skills.

The candidate must have:-
- Full membership of PTUK or BAPT
- Post Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy
- Experience of working with children of primary age in a therapeutic way
- Experience of using a range of therapies
- Knowledge of working with children who have experienced trauma
- Experience in identifying the student's counselling needs through an assessment process
