Undertake planned or reactive maintenance work on engineering assets ensuring optimum serviceability which meets agreed service levels and provides a trouble free operational environment, applying the skills and knowledge required for the task. This includes inspecting assets which are not working as needed, assessing & reporting what work is required and undertaking that work.
Maintenance diagnosis/ fault finding on Electrical, Mechanical and electronic assets associated with the airport.
Undertake maintenance tasks out with core skill.
Use prevailing AIAL IT and work management systems (for example FSI) as required. This includes receiving & closing down work orders and entering accurate data. Use maintenance system data to understand individual, team & asset performance.
Ensure all maintenance and engineering task records are updated in accordance with the regulatory commitments
Operate and promote working practices which ensure a safe working environment for self and others, contributing to the development of a safety culture, through participation in safety management system, and adhering to mandatory regulations & safety procedures.
Engage proactively in any work associated with delivering performance improvements within the engineering environment.
Communicate effectively with customers and maintenance team colleagues on the progress of completing work.
Work with others, including colleagues or apprentices on a one-to-one basis to help them learn.
Proactively upgrade skills to facilitate the maintenance and operation of new assets being delivered into service to ensure that they are maintained in a manner which keeps them performing at an appropriate level.
Participate in task risk assessments and utilise them and method statements in the completion of all maintenance tasks ensuring that the work is undertaken safely and meets the required specification
Work with others, including colleagues or trainees on a one-to-one basis to enable a broadening of the skill and knowledge base of the whole workforce to deliver the best possible customer service. Including a cross fertilisation of skills associated to airport specific and specialist equipment.
Work with the AIAL Security Management Team to promote the Security Management System (SeMs) culture within the department and across the wider airport campus with a focus on adherence to the principles within the AIAL Security Policy. Provide or seek guidance from AIAL Security to encourage the team to report all suspicious or security related incidents in a timely manner to Security or the Police or Airport Duty Manager. Cascade all relevant security related information to the team in a timely manner including advice in response to security related incidents.
