Summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Stepped Care Therapy Team within Older Peoples’ Mental Health Secondary Care Services in Huntingdon. The successful candidate will work alongside a senior occupational therapist, as well as other members of the team including an occupational therapy assistant and psychologists. The role would include using occupational therapy specific skills to assess and implement treatment plans for older adults with mental health needs. The role includes using evidence-based models of practice (e.g. Model of Human Occupation) and would provide opportunities for the candidate to further develop occupational therapy knowledge and skills. The role would involve multidisciplinary working with mental and physical health staff.

The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, and have a passion for working with older people in the community. There will be CPD opportunities to be involved in wider occupational therapy developments as well as other CPD opportunities across the service.

Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. Please confirm in your application that you meet the specified criteria.

The post sits within the Stepped Care Therapy team, which is made up of Psychologists and Occupational Therapy staff. Supervised by a senior OT with the same specialism you will coordinate with others in similar posts. Training is provided and there are fantastic opportunities to use occupational formulation and treatment planning. You will work closely with other members of the MDT, including psychiatrists, mental health nurses, support workers and social workers. Ability to drive is essential.
