The Senior Trial Manager will join a team of over 140 senior research associates, academics, educationalists, and clinicians, providing a busy and highly motivating place to work. The key focus of this role will be to support the Lead Trial and Quality Manager and Assistant Director of LDC Operations in providing leadership to the trial management team, and operationalise, manage and oversee a portfolio of research studies across the LDC; this will include contract negotiation and financial management. In addition to this, the post holder will be expected to manage a small portfolio of their own studies. The role will include the leadership, development and line management of the trial team; and to ensure studies are set-up in timely fashion and delivered to time, target and within budget. A pivotal aspect of this role will be to set-up trial management processes to ensure trials are set-up and delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the required regulatory framework.

The Leicester Diabetes Centre is led by two world leading diabetologists and is one of the largest facilities in Europe for carrying out international renowned clinical research, teaching and education. It undertakes a wide range of commercial and non-commercial research projects in diabetes and other long-term health conditions and leads/manages/hosts several prestigious research grants and infrastructure awards including a local NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC), and NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) theme in Diet, Lifestyle and Physical Activity, and NIHR funded Patient Recruitment Centre (PRC) for commercial research.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
