Summary
St John the Baptist Church is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our team based in Crawley, West Sussex. This role will give you the chance to use the skills you have developed to take a lead role in every aspect of the church's finance function within an environment of increasing operational complexity.
For the right candidate there will be the opportunity, in time, to step into the current Finance Manager's role. The ideal applicant will be an all-rounder with an AAT (or equivalent) qualification, with experience of handling Financial and Management accounts. In past roles you will have been known for your attention to detail and as having a consistent, methodical approach to your work. You will need to be a self-starter with the ability to deal with non-financial people in the team, as well as statutory bodies. You should be able to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines.
You will be a part of a busy, committed team, supporting the vision of Church Crawley where we love Jesus, love Church, love People and love Crawley. The role is office based, although we are able to consider hybrid working once the initial on-boarding period has been completed. However, to enable continued team cohesion, there will always be a requirement for agreed core hours to be worked on-site. Also, from the detailed job description, please note that at Church Crawley you would be joining a faith community. Our roles, therefore, have a genuine occupational requirement to ensure protection of our strong Christian ethos and values.

This is a full-time, permanent position.
