Summary

Landmarc Support Services currently face an exciting future, we have just been awarded a 7+3 year government contract.

This exciting, new opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager will have a focus on Construction Design Management, specifically management arrangements and assurance of Client Duties. This role will support the company with our legal and contractual health and safety commitments. In addition, the role is expected to assist the wider health and safety team where required.

This role is offered with remote working, but will be required to travel nationally to support the contract. The support your travel, you will be rewarded with a generous car allowance each month with expenses paid on top of this.

Main Responsibilities

This is a leading role in in nurturing safe and healthy working practices and behaviours within the operational teams, with a focus on project and programme delivery and the supply chain. This role will enable the organisation to create a safer workplace, improve compliance, and realise our long-term commitment to improving our Health and Safety Culture.

The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for implementing new systems, procedures, and policies. Along with providing training and assurance for both the operational teams and the client organisation.

  • Assist in promotion of the positive health and safety culture within the business
  • Develop, implement and monitor a structured process for the delivery of CDM Client activities
  • Conduct health and safety audits to a pre-determined programme, across all operating Regions / locations.
  • Assist in authorship and revision of the Health & Safety Policies and implementation plans
  • Undertake detailed investigations into accidents, near misses, incidents and dangerous occurrences
  • Assisting in the production of a monthly reports and communications on health and safety management matters
  • Provide training to both internal and external stakeholders on health and safety matters
  • Support to Regional and Head Office staff through the provision of advice and direction on health & safety matters.

The Ideal Candidate

What you know:

  • Hold minimum of TechIOSH or equivalent
  • ISO 45001:2018 Audit Qualification
  • Experienced at providing operational advice and guidance on health and safety matters, including CDM
  • Experience working in a Building Services and/or Construction
  • Have experience in facilitating cultural change within large organisations

Nice to know:

  • Working towards CMIOSH
  • Knowledge of the Defence sector
  • ISO Audit Qualifications

Skills and qualities:

  • The ability to problem solve and review complex challenges
  • Have the ability to articulate complex situation/subjects in an easy relatable way
  • Strong organisational skills and use to working with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work within a team
  • Experience with technology and software, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Be able to prioritise workload
