The College operates across two closely located campuses, next to the University of Leicester on University Road and a smaller campus at Regent Road.

In this context, we are looking to appoint a well-qualified, self-motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of English, who will help us provide the best possible learning experiences and outcomes for our students.

THE CURRICULUM AREA – ENGLISH, FILM AND LANGUAGES (EFL)

This post sits within the English, Film and Modern Foreign Languages department and the team comprises of highly experienced and dedicated teaching staff supported by a Deputy Curriculum Area Leader and two Assistant Curriculum Area Leaders who will together ensure the provision of high-quality outcomes and experiences for students and lead the on-going development of teaching, learning and assessment.

The area is located across both campuses in open-plan offices in the College’s main teaching blocks and uses classrooms nearby. There are a good range of resources including excellent online materials, interactive whiteboards, library holdings and IT facilities.

The area provides Level 3 programmes covering; English Language, English Literature, Film Studies and Languages, including French, German and Spanish.

There is an emphasis throughout our courses on developing independent study and employability skills. Our students progress along a range of routes after their time at WQE including University, Apprenticeships and employment.

This is a full time, term time post commencing August 2024

The salary will be at a point on the Sixth Form Colleges pay spine which ranges from £30,500 - £47,133 per annum.
