Summary

As a Motor Transport Driver at Sodexo in HMS Collingwood, you will work with a small, dedicated team operating a variety of vehicles, including PCVs (coaches & minibuses), LGVs (vans/pick-up) and cars to meet customer requirements.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure vehicles in use are fully compliant with Road Traffic Act/Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) requirements.
  • Report/rectify as appropriate any defect that might render a vehicle non-compliant.
  • Complete all task/reporting documentation in accordance with legal requirements and MoD/Sodexo operating procedures.
  • Work a rolling 4-week shift roster during establishment term times and as directed by the MT Manager, at other times.
  • Work overtime as agreed to meet business requirements for out of hours commitments, which may include occasional weekends & overnight tasks.
  • Clean vehicles as directed by the Line Manager, thereby ensuring all vehicles utilised by the contracted service are maintained in a presentable/clean condition.
  • Carry out routine transport office administration, as directed by Line Management and any other associated MT duties.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks as determined by Line Management to meet the needs of the business, including support/cover for other staff when required.

What you bring:

  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • PCV Cat D1/ D driving licence (Inc. Hire and Reward)
  • Driver CPC qualification
  • Driver Digi Tachograph Card
  • Sound knowledge of EC Drivers Hours and Tachograph Regulations
  • Understanding of and compliant with all aspects of road transport legislation
  • Demonstrable driving experience and basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles
