Summary

Salary: Band 9 £34,722 - £38,295 p.a.

Hours: 37 hours per week. Full time preferred, however part time and flexible working arrangements considered.

As a Senior Transport Planner in The Transport Delivery Team you will be responsible for coordinating the feasibility process for transport schemes. You will also support the process for identifying funding for priority schemes, including the annual capital allocation expressions of interest. You will also be involved in the development of projects and programmes that deliver the Local Transport Plan objectives for a greener, cleaner, and safer city.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have a degree level education or demonstrable equivalent professional experience. You will have well-developed project management skills, including skills for coordination, liaison and progress reporting. You will also have experience of transport scheme development and design .

You will be able to communicate messages (which may be complicated or sensitive) clearly, concisely and at a level appropriate to the audience, who may not be specialists transport planning and you will be able to demonstrate high levels of verbal communication and reasoning, putting forward persuasive and compelling arguments.

You will be able to work independently and proactively, along with the ability to prioritise. You will also be able to make decisions and think through complex and conflicting issues and manage competing priorities;
