Summary

A leading UK manufacturer of precision engineered products is currently seeking a highly motivated individual, ideally from the high precision and CNC machining industry, to join their team as a Senior CNC Engineer / Machine Shop Supervisor.

Main focus of the role of is to supervise and support the daily production machine shop activities. This is a “hands on” role where the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate ability to plan, program, set and implement machining tasks on a variety of Fanuc and Siemens Control CNC machines. A strong background in manual machining techniques would be an advantage along with supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities: -
Training and development of operators to ensure proper execution of the defined processes.
Assist with the management and planning of production / workload in accordance with business priorities.
Optimising machine shop efficiency through the analysis of factory software.

Skills / Competencies required: -
A good knowledge of appropriate cutting data for machining a variety of materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, high alloy steel, aluminium, and brass.
Strong knowledge of machine shop equipment.
Experience of manufacturing precision parts to tight tolerances on CNC machines, lathes, and millers.
CNC Programming (lathes, vertical milling machine centres) and Setting experience (Fanuc controls, Haas Controls and Siemens) - Desirable
A good knowledge of CNC programming techniques, production fixturing.
Turning and milling on manual machines and demonstrate hands on capability.
Excellent communication skills and a proactive team player.
Strong supervisory, people management, motivational and training skills.
Knowledge of TPM programs – beneficial.
Ability to overcome day to day machining issues.
Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
Ability to understand interpret engineering drawings and use measuring equipment.
Maintain a safe working environment ensuring all company procedures are followed.
Commitment, dedication, and willingness to succeed and progress is a must.
Understanding of lean manufacturing (TPM, 5S, ETC)

Hours of Work: Mon to Thurs 7.15am to 4.15 pm, Fri 7.15 am. – 12.15 pm.

This will suit either a proven supervisor or a senior CNC engineer looking to progress into a Supervisory role.
