Summary

We are recruiting an Income Collection and Support Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Home working and also require the employee to travel throughout the borough to visit clients at their home.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Housing Services Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £29,269 - £32,076 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Caerphilly County Borough Council are looking to recruit an Income Collection and Support Officer to join our busy team. This diverse and interesting role will see you managing a specific geographical area and providing comprehensive services to tenants in respect of action taken to reduce rent arrears. This may include, including taking recovery action, representing the Authority at Court Hearings, negotiating repayments, and offering advice and support. Working to enable tenancies to be sustainable and support homeless prevention legislation.

The post holder will identify and participate in the development and implementation of strategies for tackling and preventing rent arrears ensuring maximisation of rent collection income.

The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering front line public services. They will have strong customer service skills and be able to negotiate effectively with good verbal and written communication skills plus a high level of attention to detail.

The role will involve an element of home working and also require the employee to travel throughout the borough to visit clients at their home.


For the role, we ask that you have:

1. Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
2. Knowledge of Housing Law in relation to debt recovery and other tenancy breaches.
3. Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit tenants, attend meetings and Court.
