Requirements

You will have an SVQ3/HNC, or equivalent, in a relevant subject area, or relevant working experience.

Responsibilities

The Council has adopted a Category Management approach to procurement to ensure that its supplies, services and works are procured in a risk aware, cost effective and efficient manner. Procurement Assistants play a critical role within Corporate Procurement and are crucial to the success of this approach by supporting the strategic delivery of procurement activities.

You will provide competent procurement advice and assistance to Dundee City Council in order to support procurement best practice throughout the organisation and support and promote corporate procurement policies, processes and systems.

The post supports the Corporate Procurement Manager, Category Officers and Community Benefits Officer by assisting in all aspects in the day to day operation of the Corporate Procurement Team.

The Individual

You will have experience in the use of all Microsoft Office packages (or equivalent) - i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software.

You will have good organisational skills, exercise accuracy and attention to detail, work to tight deadlines with strong numeracy and analysis skills.
