Summary


We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the Financial Account team in providing Treasury and Financial Accounting support to departments across the Trust.

You should be a qualified or part qualified Accountant and ideally have relevant accounting experience.

Working hours are 8.00 am– 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, office and home working, with a minimum of two days in the office.



Organisation and planning of a number of complex activities work within the Treasury Management and Financial Accounting function including the setting of priorities and targets, and to contribute to the development of medium / long term plans within Financial Services this will include making plans for accounting and legislative changes that may require continuing adjustment in order to meet the organisational objectives. The post holder will need to co-ordinate and plan activities with other professionals and agencies e.g. auditors, Trust Bankers, NHSI, ICG and the Department of Health.

Responsible as the Lead Specialist on all treasury management issues within the Finance Directorate for the interpreting of directly related procedures, policies and legislation and the wider impact on the Trust, this will include extensive discretion on how the procedures, policies and legislation will be implemented and the effects.

To be fully conversant with good cashiering and financial governance practice this will include timely banking of all cash, reconciliation of bank accounts prevention of bank overdrafts and the timely reconciliation of all control accounts and that all salary sacrifice schemes comply with the latest HMRC guidance.

Assist in the completion of the monthly PFR returns and the annual statutory accounts.
Preparation of Cash Flow statements.
Maintenance of the Trust’s cashbooks.
Management of the Trust’ bank mandate.
Primary contact for all correspondence with the Banks Relationship Manager.
Responsible for the management of the Trust’s provisions in accordance with IAS 37.
Responsible for the completion of the monthly VAT returns and the quarterly review process.
To be the Trust Lead on the Agreement of Balance (AOB) exercise.
To manage the monthly reconciliation of all control accounts.
