Summary

Our client is looking for a fire safety surveyor to join them on a temporary contract until August 2024. In this role you will assist the Fire Safety Manager to effectively and efficiently plan and deliver the fire safety programmes and requirements and planned maintenance programmes to council owned housing stock, including writing specifications, contract monitoring, financial management and contract compliance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery of high-quality fire safety compliance and management within your area of responsibility ensuring that it conforms to specifications and budgets.
  • To inspect and control works carried out by contractors on site, ensuring that the client's interests are fully protected.
  • To maximise quality and performance for Fire Safety within the Housing Investment and Asset Management team to carry out pre-arranged and random site inspections, assessing level of quality, timeliness and customer care, and to provide a professional service across the city.
  • To effectively and efficiently manage technical and customer liaison staff to ensure top quarterly provision of services and customer satisfaction is consistently returned.
  • To take responsibility for co-ordination and management of all matters relating to structural and fire safety for HRA housing stock

You will need:

  • Educated to minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience
  • Experience of managing fire safety across a large portfolio of residential buildings including high rise blocks, medium and low rise blocks and houses.
  • Qualified Fire Risk assessor
  • Knowledge of the construction and housing sector and relevant impacts for fire and building safety.
