Mitie are looking to expand our already thriving service department by taking on a fire biased Project Manager to join our fire delivery team.

A field-based role responsible for the technical surveying & risk assessing of client premises to deliver a technical specification for delivery. Ensure the agreed service requirements and cost matrix are delivered in an agreed format with a safe working focus and take lead on the delivery of larger installation and remedial works where required.



The ideal candidate must have a good work ethic, be customer focused, be electrically experienced with a range of fire detection system and auxiliary equipment and most importantly be flexible in their approach to work.We provide everything required for you to carry out the job to the best of your ability.

The role will involve working individually and as a part of the larger Small Works Delivery Team to.



-Produce accurate drawings and specifications for the purpose of installing various multi-disciplined fire systems in compliance with relevant British Standards

-Ensure that any management information is provided timely, that it is accurate and professionally presented

-Complete technical specifications in line with the account management team and client

-Ensure that only approved suppliers are used in accordance with Mitie policies

-Manage responsibility for operational specialist projects of the fire and security business, ensuring the works are carried out adhering to the Mitie Fire and Mitie Group Operating policies, procedures, and quality policy, and to the relevant industry guidelines and customer specifications.

-Offer full technical support and consultation to Mitie Fire clients, advising on current and relevant technical documents.

-Ensure that the budget is adhered to, and all levels of expenditure are within the set project targets.

-Ensure high standards are maintained in respect of technical compliance to standards, health and safety and pay particular attention to statutory compliance across all building services in buildings / services provided.

-Assist the technical estimating teams and accounts managers to create sound work winning process and develop and execute a process for establishing and growing reference sites.

-Ensure full understanding of any changes and development in legislation and working practices that may affect the company's operations and/or present new opportunities.

-Ensure that the team / sub-contractors are appropriately resourced, informed, motivated, and trained so that company objectives are met in the most efficient and effective manner.

-Build and maintain compliance project files to demonstrate on going quality management systems and accreditation requirements.

-Attend and undergo third party audits to demonstrate project management files and compliant installed projects.

-Liaise with auditing team to ensure site inspections / ongoing audits are carried out on in house team and sub contactors.

-Ensure only industry approved (i.e., NICEIC, NSI Gold and SP203/LPCB) sub-contractors are used and managed.

-Produce and deliver O&M manuals to the end user, provide on-site training to the end user when the need arises.

-Support operational and account management teams with surveys, small works specifications etc.

-Build long term and sustainable customer relationships whilst maintaining the highest standards of presentation, personal integrity, and customer support.

-Ensure high standards are maintained in respect of technical compliance to standards, health and safety and pay particular attention to statutory compliance.

-Demonstrate a good working knowledge of BS5839 pt1 2017 as a minimum with previous experience in Security beneficial.



The role will involve traveling to and from the clients' sites covering large areas and may include some overnight stays depending on distances from home.

Qualifications & Experience

-Demonstratable experience in a similar role, with previous experience in Fire & Security Project Management

-Background in operational management an advantage.

-Strong and demonstrable customer relationship management for both regionalised client retail sites and head office senior client engagement.

-Working knowledge of P&L Accounts.

-Experience in financial forecasting, budgeting and analysis is required.

-Demonstrable experience of successful process management within a large and complex client project delivery model.

-Proven track record in successful people management including performance management.

-Valid formal Health & Safety qualification e.g., IOSH (5day) / NEBOSH highly desirable.

-IT literate Management Information Systems, MS Word, Power point and Excel.

-Excellent working knowledge and evidence of training for BS5839 Pt1, BSEN12485, BSEN15004 - training will be provided for the successful candidate if required.
