Summary

To provide business management support and leadership to the Oncology CSU, Haematology department, ensuring the provision of an efficient and effective administration service to support the delivery of quality service to patients, to agreed quality standards, in accordance with agreed activity levels. The post holder will be responsible for the management of a team of admin and clerical staff at various levels between bands 2-5 across Haemostasis & Thrombosis, Haemophilia and the anticoagulation service. They will assist in the performance development of the Haematology Department and ensure that services are delivered effectively, efficiently and in compliance with Trust Policies and Procedures. In addition the post holder will have a supporting role working closely with the business manager and over the duration of the secondment will develop and understanding of the other subspecialty areas within Haematology. The post holder will work closely with clinical teams and will contribute to network and alliance meetings as required. The post hold will maintain effective working relationships within a multi professional environment. 3. ORGANISATIONAL CHART 4. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Responsible for the leadership and management of staff within the Haematology team as directed by the business manager, including performance and appraisal development, HR processes while taking a lead on the people priority agenda. Lead the recruitment and selection of admin staff where vacancies arise. To manage and support change within the organisation, being a waste reduction champion and encouraging and supporting others to adapt to new ways of working using the LIM methodology. Leading on service improvements as directed by the business manager. Assisting in the development of activity plans for the Department understanding the performance agenda and the management of patients across 18 week RTT and cancer pathways. Leading and motivating staff in the delivery of quality care across complex clinical and business environments and services. Participating appropriately and responding to PALS and support in the investigation of complaints as directed by the business manager.
