About the role

We are now looking to recruit a PMO Resource Manager to support the Head of PMO Enabling Functions and Finance Change Portfolio. The PMO Resource Manager is responsible for resource planning and forecasting, linked to the Enabling Functions resource demand view generated from Business Cases across Technology, Finance Change, Property and Legal Portfolios. The role ensures the right balance of internal and external resources are supplied to meet the Portfolio demand, delivering to the correct time, quality, and cost. Working with the Enabling Functions PMO team and Stakeholders across Enabling Functions, Technology, People and Finance Change, this role assesses the overall capacity, provides ongoing central visibility, and delivers the appropriate resourcing strategy to support the Enabling Functions strategy.

You will be responsible for

Providing support to the Head of PMO Enabling Functions and Finance Change Portfolio in:

  • Working with the Enabling Functions project stakeholders and Heads of Departments to forward plan key resources (within projects and BAU)
  • Continually review the hiring process to ensure the best candidates are placed via approved suppliers in the most cost-effective way, using approved Rate Cards, where appropriate
  • Forecasting future resource needs based on programme and project plans / resource profiles and the demand pipeline
  • Developing processes to maintain a clear and accurate view of resource demand from both pipeline and inflight projects
  • Providing accurate and timely Resource management information to the Programme Director and EFLT, and feeding into various stakeholder reports and meeting packs.
  • Highlighting any resource conflicts, pinch points, skillset gaps and key person dependencies and highlight to Enabling Functions project stakeholders
  • Continually reviewing and streamline the \'Joiners, Movers, Leavers\' process
  • Acting as a point of escalation for Resourcing issues between Hiring Managers, Procurement, MSP and Suppliers
  • Managing the On/Off boarding process for New Starters and Leavers
  • Ensuring all resourcing Risks and Issues are communicated and shared on the Risk log
  • Managing the process for renewing Contractors or services
  • Managing and chairing the Resource Board with Stakeholders. Setting, agreeing and ensuring the terms of reference for Resource Board are upheld.
  • Ensuring the Resourcing profile is seamlessly linked to the finances
  • Working with our MSP to source appropriate candidates and manage any escalations through to resolution
  • Ensuring all other monthly reporting activities are completed on time

You will need

We are seeking candidates with logical, analytical and numerical skills paired with the structured thinking required to understand root causes of issues and translate into solutions together with the ability and vision to seek out and drive opportunities for continuous improvements.

Specifically, the role calls for:

  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
  • Proven track record of working and liaising effectively with business users at all levels of seniority and influencing in a matrix structure (including Exec team)
  • Excellent attention to detail and comfortable working with large amounts of data
  • Ability to juggle moving priorities
  • Understanding of Capacity Management
  • Good knowledge and user of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Teams and other collaboration tools
  • Decision-making, Financial acumen and Organisation skills (including time management)
  • Data analysis and report preparation with support from the Data Analytics and Reporting Manager
  • Results-oriented and customer-focused, able to interact and communicate at all levels Experience of large corporate financial budgeting and planning processes would be an advantage but not essential
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering projects within or outside of Tesco
  • Experience of large scale recruitment drives

The role will be based at our office at Welwyn Garden City, UK, with an element of homeworking; some flexibility regarding travel is required.
