Summary

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAMHS clinician who would like to be considered for the team leader role of the SLP CAMHS Crisis Line.

About the team:

Be part of an innovative team which is vital to our plans to transform Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Tier 4 services across South London. The service will work in collaboration with the South London Partnership (SLP) Crisis service.

The CAMHS Crisis Line aims to provide short-term, targeted telephone interventions to support young people in distress, as well as providing advice and support for parents and carers who have concerns about their child or young person’s mental health.

The SLP objectives are to support family life and community care. We acknowledge that there are times when talking to a CAMHS professional can change the pathway of the forth coming events. It is a privileged position to join a young person and family in a moment of crisis and therefore the team leader will place high importance on the value of structured systems and reflective engagement. The suitable candidate will value staff wellbeing and support clinical development.

We are seeking clinicians who currently have band 6 or 7 experience within CAMHS. This opportunity is open to staff from a nursing clinical background. Prospective candidates will need to be able to balance clinical expertise with an ability to empower lead and support a front-line clinical service.

Main duties of the job

The Nurse Team Leader role is suitable for Registered Nurses who have successfully completed preceptorship and have registered as an approved NMC mentor.
The post holder will deliver, or advise on the delivery of, high quality safe nursing care, ensuring consistently high standards of practice and clinical excellence which comply with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.

As Nurse Team Lead you will promote and develop clinical leadership and clinical practice and be a positive role model to junior members of the
team through the practice of evidence-based care. You will be expected to support professional development through clinical appraisal and supervision and contribute to the ongoing educational programme for staff, fostering a positive learning environment.
In addition, the post holder will model high quality clinical skills whilst responding to out of hours calls to the Crisis Line by children and young people in significant distress offering immediate advice, support and guidance, ensuring interventions where possible are underpinned by intervention models (CBT, DBT and mentalization).

You will be aware of, and ensure that, the care team support the holistic needs of all children and young people, such as psychological, social, physical, recreational and spiritual needs
