Summary


Come and join us to learn and develop your skills and knowledge towards being an experienced neonatal transport nurse, caring for a range of sick neonates who require transfer across the London area and beyond. This career path will allow you to develop your portfolio, experience working within a small team setting, stabilising and transferring some of the sickest babies across London and the wider counties.

You will also have exposure to the operational aspects of running a transport service, and delivering education/ outreach learning to not only our service users but also the NTS team. You will also become established on the single-clinician led High/low dependency transfer team.

If successful you would be welcomed into a friendly team consisting of 3 Neonatal Consultants, specialist registrars/clinical fellows, Matron; PDN; ANNP’s and experienced transport nurses. These team members are complemented by technicians from St John Ambulance Service.

A full induction process is provided with competencies surrounding the transport situation and equipment. Shifts include rotation between dual and single clinician teams, days, including a twilight team, nights and weekends. There is also the opportunity to train to become flight competent, (currently privately provided). Full and part time options can be discussed.At Barts Health, we enable flexible working patterns where possible.

The post holder will lead by example as an expert specialist neonatal nurse on the Neonatal Transfer Team for London. To work as part of a team in facilitating neonatal transfers across London and the South East.
