We have a vacancy for a Volunteer Services Coordinator – Inpatient Units to work as part of the Volunteer Services Team.

This exciting position gives the opportunity to lead on the onboarding, support, supervision and rota management of Hospice Volunteers based at our Inpatient Unit on Nettleham Road in Lincoln. With Volunteers engaged in our garden, reception and on the ward, they form an important part of the Hospice workforce helping to meet and greet, improve the grounds and provide food and drink to patients and visitors.

You will help to develop roles, training and processes in line with CQC safer recruitment guidelines and support the organisation with a high quality Volunteer workforce in roles and locations as needed for service delivery.

You will work alongside colleagues in the catering, estates and clinical teams to identify and fulfil need whilst ensuring an engaged and motivated volunteering experience.

You will also support the Grantham Hospice in the Hospital Unit Manager with Volunteer related issues and cross cover with the Volunteer Services Coordinator – Wellbeing Centre's to support Volunteers in other areas.

Qualifications and Experience:

Applications are welcome from candidates with GCSEs at grade C or higher in at least English and Maths or equivalent academic or vocational qualifications, e.g. NVQ level 1 / 2 in Customer Care or Business Administration. Knowledge of onboarding recruitment processes, use of electronic databases and Microsoft package programmes would be beneficial.

A Full driving licence and a car available for use for work with business insurance is required for this role.

Ideally you will have experience of working with volunteers, rota management, co-ordination and an eye for detail along with adaptive communication techniques to engage with colleagues, volunteers, patients and visitors.

Contract: Permanent

Hours:
Part Time 22.5 hours per week, flexible over 3-5 days per week. Some occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Salary:
£24,048 per annum, pro rata plus contributory pension scheme or continuation of NHS pension
