Summary
Head Veterinary Nurse - Barnham

Purovets are working with a fantastic specialist Ophthalmology referral practice who are looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse ready to take the next step in their career and lead a fantastic team of Nurses within a supportive practice in a Lovely area of greenery, only a 20 minute commute to Canterbury city centre.
The right candidate will be an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse ideally with some leadership experience, however they will provide extensive in house training as well as funding for any relevant clinical or non clinical CPD, all the Nurses in the practice are members of the association of Veterinary anaesthetists, which is funded by the clinic.
You would be working with cutting edge equipment and facilities for the diagnostic, treatment and management of eye disease, in order to preserve vision wherever possible and promoting the quality of life for each patient. The fantastic equipment available for you would include multi parameters, capnography and ventilator along with the use of various anaesthetic techniques including muscle relaxants in order to perform a variety of services to the highest standard. All allowing a varied and engaging day to day position!
This opportunity arises due to internal progression, as the previous Head Nurse has ascended to the Practice Manager role. This transition guarantees hands-on guidance and assistance from someone intimately familiar with the role.
The practice is open from 8am to 6;30 weekdays only, there is no late night work and no routine weekend hours. You would need to participate in a 1:4 on call rota for weekends only, which is equally shared within the team but as a referral only practice it is very rare that anyone is called in and if you do attend the practice on a weekend, overtime is paid. This is a full time role but there is flexibility on whether this is worked across a 4 or 5 day week.
